The research group of prof. Elly Hol received a grant from ZonMW’s Memorabel Program. Memorabel is part of the Deltaplan Dementia. The aim is to improve the quality of life of people with dementia and the care and support provided to them. This is done by research and developing and applying effective and effective instruments, interventions and care models.

Elly Hol about the research, Amyloid-triggered glia response: the first step towards dementia: "This project investigates the possible role of glial cells very early in the beginning of cognitive decline, ultimately leading to dementia and how, at the early stage of the Alzheimer's disease process, the glial cells have been affected. This knowledge can be used to find new points of action to inhibit the disease process at a very early stage. "
