Quick recovery after stroke

Frequent measurements of walking abilities soon after a stroke, accurately predict the recovery of gait six months later. Repeated measurements are necessary since the apparent recovery may vary with the time of measuring. This concludes Boudewijn Kollen in his PhD-thesis.

Kollen also found that gait improvement due to high intensity revalidation in the first twenty weeks after a stroke, is still visible one year later.
