VENI- and VIDI-grants


With the VENI-grant NWO rewards young and outstanding scientists pursuing innovative research. The grants amounts to 208,000 euro. Three UMC Utrecht researchers received the grant: Jeroen Hendrikse, PhD (Radiology), Suzan Rooijackers, PhD (Experimental microbiology) and Matthijs Vink, PhD (Psychiatry). Susana Chuva de Sousa Lopes, PhD, working at the closely related Hubrecht Laboratory for Developmental Biology, also was awarded a VENI grant.

Five UMC Utrecht researchers were awarded a VIDI grant. This funding is meant for researchers who want to develop their own innovative line of research and appoint one or more researchers. Maximum 600,000 euro is granted. Also, VIDI grants are only awarded to scientists who have been working in post doc positions for several years. Rick Dijkhuizen, PhD (Image Science Institute), Sarah Durston, PhD (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry), Geert Kops, PhD (Experimental Oncology), Jeroen Pasterkamp, PhD (Pharmacology and Anatomy) and Fulvio Reggiori, PhD (Cell Biology) are the five UMC Utrecht researchers receiving a VIDI grant.
