The Assessment of Research Quality at the UMC Utrecht has been published and covers the period 2001-2006. The assessment of research at Dutch universities is carried out every six years. The previous assessement of the medical research at the eight Dutch universities with a medical faculty occured in 1998.
The assessment of 2007 was based on the Standard Evaluation protocol (SEP) for public research organizations in the Netherlands, accepted in 2002. In this new procedure, the Board of Utrecht University has appointed the review committee for the evaluation of the resaerch at the UMC Utrecht.
The committe report in the present document on its findings. The reaction of the dean, prof.dr. J.L.L. Kimpen, has also been included and reports on the follow-up the UMC Utrecht has given on the assessment of the research organization and quality of the UMC Utrecht.
