The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) has awarded Vidi grants to two innovative researchers from the University Medical Center (UMC) Utrecht and one researcher from the Hubrecht Institute. All of the recipients will be awarded a grant of a maximum of 800,000 euros. With this grant, the recipients can put together their own research group and develop a particular line of research for a period of five years.
The Vidi grants are intended for experienced researchers who have already conducted several years of post-doctoral research. People awarded a Vidi grant have already demonstrated that they can come up with innovative ideas and that they can successfully and independently develop them. These researchers are in the top ten to twenty percent in their respective fields of research.
