Circulatory Health: focuses on atherosclerosis, heart failure and stroke.
Ambition: to be norm setting in the prevention, prediction and prognosis of vascular disease. To create a state-of-the- art, internationally competitive, integrated research and patient care program that stimulates translational, multidisciplinary research, innovative patient care and excellent education and training with the aim to improve prediction, prognosis and prevention of vascular disease.
The added value of Circulatory Health lies in the cross-links that will be created between scientists from the different participating research groups, as well as linkage of research infrastructure (patient cohorts, databases), all with a common research focus. Also, we will create an integrated program for research and patient care. Circulatory Health aims to reduce the cardiovascular disease burden in the Netherlands and abroad.
