Our research aims to improve knowledge on etiology, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment or prevention of disease. We focus strongly on clinical epidemiologic principles and methods for patient-oriented research.
Epidemiological research is conducted across clinical departments in the UMC, with the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care providing core epidemiological expertise. The Center plays a pivotal role in research and has an extensive advisory function. Its clinical epidemiologists collaborate in the design, conduct and analysis of patient-oriented research in almost all of the clinical departments of the UMC Utrecht.
The Utrecht University Prestige Master in Epidemiology [LINK TO: http://www.msc-epidemiology.nl/] is closely linked to the research program. We also collaborate with epidemiological research groups at Utrecht University within the beta- and ABC faculties.
