An MLVA type (MT) is based on all six VNTR loci. Therefore, submission of an MLVA profile is only possible, when all of the six VNTR loci are determined. In case the submitted MLVA profile is present in the database, a MT is given and isolate information of isolates with the same MT.
If the submitted MLVA profile is new, you are asked to send, if possible, isolate information to add to the database and will then be made available on the web site so that the web site can become an increasingly useful resource for global epidemiology of E. faecium.
