The main objective of the Patient Discharge System (PDS) is to register patient data quickly and qualitatively correct for General Practitioners and / or other hospitals. This has to be entered by the responsible physicians. After a short instruction of about 30 min. they have to be able to work with the system at a correct way. In the nursing departments a computer is available with the PDS. The PDS is connected with the network, the Patient Barcode Registration System and the Hospital Information System.
The objectives of the PDS
The Patient Discharge System comes up to the following requirements:
- Generating a large amount of qualitatively good letters of discharge in a short time;
- Guaranteeing of the quality of the generated letter of discharge;
- Decreasing the load on the personnel by application of the PDS;
- Evaluating the letters of discharge.
For the automated PDS there are connections with the Hospital Information System (HIS) and the Patient Barcode Registration System (PBRS).
