Objectives of such a connection of information systems and -techniques are:
- Unique identification of victims by means of the barcode system of the Major Incident Hospital.
- The availability to the municipal CRIB Agency about the number, the destinations and the personal details of the victims.
- To provide early management information (number of victims, destinations and seriousness of injury) to the Regional Medical Functionary and the connection command vehicle about the number of victims that is admitted, or has arrived in a hospital.
- To provide that unauthorized people are not able to access private information by using a secured network.
- To guarantee data communication is also possible during mass casualty incident situations. For this purpose a nationwide covering is necessary by using more networks. Also during malfunction of one network they are able to commute to another network without trouble.
