The provided software implements the
risk calculator for predicting the risk of developing disability in patients with polyneuropathy associated with IgM monoclonal gammopathy ( IgM MGUS Neuropathy) as published in the paper:
Niermeijer J.M.F., Fisher K., Eurelings M., Franssen H., Wokke J.H.J., Notermans N.C. Prognosis of IgM MGUS polyneuropathy: a prospective cohort study of 140 patients. Neurology, 2010 Feb 2;74(5):406-12.
The
risk calculator allows the user to estimate the risk of developing disability based on 3 different prognostic factors: Myelin-Associated-Glycoprotein (MAG), Demyelination and Age at onset. The risk calculator may only be used by healthcare professionals.
Disability is defined as ≥ 3 points on Modified Rankin Scale (Stroke, 1989; 20 (6): 828).
Demyelination is defined by the research criteria of the American Academy of Neurology (Neurology 1991; 41 (5): 617-618).
