Research group
:
Neuromuscular research group (Prof. dr L. H. van den Berg, dr N. C. Notermans, ir. L.J. van Schelven)

Title research line:
Motor neuron disease and mimics, including multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), anti-myelin associated glycoprotein (MAG) neuropathy, and chronic idiopathic axonal polyneuropathy.

Summary research:
Role of voltage gated ion channels and Na/K-ATP-ase in the development of axonal degeneration in MMN and CIDP. (Prinses Beatrix Fonds grant no. WAR 06-0116; PhD student drs. D.C.G. Straver).
Electrophysiological aspects of Schwann cell-axon interaction in anti-MAG neuropathy, MMN, and CIDP.
Development and validation of electrodiagnostic criteria for peripheral nerve demyelination and polyneuropathy.
Temperature and peripheral nerve function.
