Title research:
Intracranial aneurysms: searching for markers of instability and risk of rupture
Summary research:
1. Searching for biomarkers of instability and risk of rupture of intracranial aneurysms by combining results of three different approaches (genomic studies, ultrastructural studies and proteomic studies by antibody approach), with a personal focus on genomics.
2. Imaging of unruptured intracranial aneurysms with Magnetic Resonance Imaging on a field strength of 7 Tesla, with the primary goal to study aneurysm characteristics (thickness and pulsatility of the aneurysmal wall, direction of flow in the aneurysm, presence of intraluminal thrombosis). The secondary goal is to study whether these characteristics differ between different sizes of aneurysms, since size is an indicator of disease severity.
