Title research Cerebral plasticity after childhood epilepsy surgery; integrity of the remaining hemisphere determines functional outcome
Summary research By studying remote pathology (with MR and histopathology), cortical reorganization (with fMRI), and functional outcome after neonatal/adult induction of epilepsy and following early/late hemispherectomy, we aim to establish the best time-frame for surgery to ensure functional recovery in relation to the rat's critical maturational period.
