cute and chronic injuries, Overreaching and Overtraining

Summary research:
Research on epidemiology of acute and chronic injuries has been part of our work for more than two decades. Books and articles are primarily tools of policy makers to decide the content and strategy in sports safety and sports injury prevention. Today, as a result of the strong ties with our partner, the Royal Netherlands Football association, we have put a stronger focus on research about prevention and treatment of injuries.
Overreaching and overtraining are tied to the process of heavy physical exercise without adequate recovery time. The process leads to an adaptation the ANS, the deregulation of stress hormones and most likely, a disbalance of the immune system. Finally, first results have been confirmed that the brain activity, measured with EEG, is actively adapting to this process.
