Methodological aspects of genetic association studies
Summary research:
Besides standard frequentist approaches, many Bayesian models and other machine learning methods have been proposes to identify risk genes in complex diseases. An important problem in genetic association studies is low power. Using both simulated and existing data, I will apply, propose and compare different types of genetic association methods and identify conditions that result in low power.
