Title research:
Unravelling differences in DNA methylation between schizophrenia patients and healthy controls
Summary research:
DNA methylation is a form of epigenetic modifcation that does not affect the primary DNA sequence, but affects secondary interactions that play a critical role in the regulation of gene expression, since aberrant DNA methylation may suppress transcription and subsequently gene expression. We want to identify SNPs which affect DNA methylation patterns what could lead to different gene expression in Schizophrenia patients.
