Title research:
optimization of treatment and management of schizophrenia in Europe
Summary research:
OPTiMiSE (OPtimization of Treatment and Management of Schizophrenia in Europe) is a large study funded by the EU. 14 European countries and Israel will include 350 patients with a first episode of schizophrenia, schizophreniform or schizoaffective disorder. The study focuses on two main goals: a) optimizing current treatment through a series of clinical studies which push the boundaries of existing treatments in their application and implementation and b) exploring novel therapeutic options through an integrated series of experimental studies based on novel strategies, and novel imaging and genomic technologies.
