Organizational structure
The Biomedical Sciences (BMS) Bachelor's Programme at Utrecht University (UU) is a joint venture of the University Medical Centre Utrecht (UMCU), the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Faculty of Science (Departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology and Chemistry), and the Hubrecht Insitute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). BMS is a partner in Utrecht Life Sciences (ULS). ULS is a strategic alliance in education, research and entrepreneurship and aims to bring together people, facilities, research, education and business in the Life Sciences. ULS is the largest and broadest concentration of biomedical expertise in the Netherlands and has gained a strong international reputation in life sciences research and education.

The Biomedical Sciences Bachelor's programme logistics and administration are provided by the School of Medical Sciences, which also offers the Medicine and Health Sciences programme, and covers student administration and counselling, course schedules, help to international students, etc. The teachers involved in the Biomedical Sciences programme work in the different ULS institutes.
