During the past years we have developed a number of assays that could be used to diagnose patients with a bleeding or thrombotic risk. For our translational research programme it is very important to better diagnose our patient cohorts
Specific aims:
To improve the diagnosis of the antiphospholipid syndrome. We have developed an assay based on antibodies that recognises a specific epitope within ß2-glycoprotein I. This assay is now tested in an international multi-centre trial.
To improve the diagnosis of thrombotic angiopathies with an assay that recognises vWF in its GPIb binding conformation.
To develop an assay that detects levels of factor VIIa
To develop biomarkers for progression of atherothrombotic disease based on the information that is present in circulating platelets.
