GIDS is a custom-designed Genomic Information Database System for storing both genotype and phenotype data. It currently contains information on around 41,000 individuals and their samples. It is written in java and runs on a postgresql database system.
It has been built up since the mid-1990s by the Complex Genetics section, UMC Utrecht, and is currently being shared with the Dept. of Genetics, UMC Groningen.
It contains information on Blood Bank controls and patient cohorts for coeliac disease, diabetes, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, aneurysms, schizophrenia and other complex disorders, including:
