Safety and Health

The best way to ensure your health and safety while abroad is through knowledge and by exercising commonsense. Research your destination. Familiarize yourself with the local policies, regulations, culture and language.

  • Did you know that the Emergency Number in the Netherlands is 112?
  • Did you know that the preferred mode of transportation is the bicycle (about twice as many bikes as cars and 15,000 km of bicycle paths)?

Before you travel
We advise you to see the appropriate healthcare provider at least 4-6 weeks prior to your departure for any additional innumizations or medications you may need for your stay in the Netherlands.

Before any foreign student performs patient-related tasks, that student must read and submit the appropriate health care reports.
