Evelien Kruisselbrink has a bachelor degree of Applied
Science from the Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen with a specialization in
biochemistry. In 2003 she joined the lab of Prof. Ronald Plasterk at the Hubrecht
Laboratory as a research technician and moved in 2007 to Leiden with the group of Dr. Marcel Tijsterman.
In 2010 she started working with Dr. Koen Braat in the Molecular Immunology lab
where she focuses on stem cell research.
Evelien will focus on the generation of induced pluripotent
stem (iPS) cells from patients that have rare blood diseases. She will
characterize and differentiate the iPS cells to the desired lineages. Other
work focuses on more fundamental processes of embryonic stem cell maintenance
and differentiation and also on processes involved in iPS cell generation.
