The Laboratory of Medical Oncology is home to the basic science of the Department of Medical Oncology.
We address biological questions that are related to the formation and behavior of human cancer. Our basic research is focused on understanding the biology of cancer.
We aim to develop novel biomarkers for early detection of cancer, and to follow therapeutic responses. In addition, we seek alternative strategies for targeted therapies and attempt to optimize existing surgical procedures.
The Department of Medical Oncology is headed by Prof. dr. Emile Voest, the Laboratory of Medical Oncology by Prof. dr. Geert Kops.
