Department of Pathology Oncology Research
Oncology research in the Department of Pathology is embedded both in the UMC Utrecht oncology program and the Division's program. Especially the translation of fundamental research into clinical development is focussed upon.
UMCU Oncology Research
The oncology program is devoted to obtaining a better understanding of the aberrant processes within cancer cells and communication of cancer cells with their environment. The translation of fundamental research into early clinical development of anti-cancer drugs, development of biomarkers and surgical techniques is stimulated.
Division of Laboratories and Pharmacy's Oncology Research
The four main lines of research that can be distinguished within the Division of Laboratories and Pharmacy (to which the Department op Pathology belongs) are represented in the Department of Pathology's research.
