Research of monochorial twin placenta's
Monochorial twin placenta's are studied on occurrence of vascular connections between both foetal circulations to find a better explanation for the difference in growth between both children, the occurrence of twin-transfusion syndrome and the development of an acardiac twin.
Perinatal asphyxia and intra-uterine foetal death
Placenta research is done with special interest in placenta and umbilical cord pathology associated with third trimester perinatal asphyxia and intra-uterine foetal death in collaboration with the departments of obstrectics and neonatology.
