Course description
This course gives an overview of both the physical and clinical aspects of IMRT and other advanced radiotherapy techniques. Since 2003 the department organizes a course on Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT). The content of this course has been adjusted and several topics have been added, therefore the name has changed into Advanced Radiotherapy Techniques.
Although IMRT has been introduced in many clinics, it remains important to understand the basics of IMRT: equipment, multi-leaf intensity modulation, inverse planning, the use of costfunctions, IMRT delivery and QA. During this course the basics of IMRT will be addressed. Besides, several new developments in radiotherapy are added to this course such as the use of biological costfunctions for inverse planning, adaptive radiotherapy, VMAT and the use of stereotactic radiotherapy.
This course is part of the educational program of the Research School for Biomedical Image Sciences,
ImagO.
