Ozlem Ipek completed her undergraduate education in Physics at the Middle East Technical University, in Ankara, Turkey. She did internship at the Department of Chemical Physics, Lund University, Lund, Sweden and worked on a project dealing with energy transfer between carotenoids and chlorophylls in light-harvesting complexes from marine algae. She received her M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). During her master's, she did internship on optical characterization of carrier relaxation into quantum dot arrays and final internship on triplet excitation and polaron formation in polymer-fullerene blends for organic solar cells. Since Augustus 2008, Ozlem has been a PhD student in the Department of Radiotherapy at UMC Utrecht. Her project is “Minimizing radiofrequency heating of patients in high field MRI”.
