Astrid de Leeuw graduated in Experimental Physics at the University of Utrecht in 1984. Since then she has been working at the University Medical Center Utrecht, department of radiotherapy, in (regional) hyperthermia, in particular on the development and clinical application of the Coaxial TEM regional hyperthermia system. She obtained the PhD degree from the University of Utrecht in 1993. Currently, she is medical physicist at the department of radiotherapy. Her special topics are position verification and brachytherapy, in particular MR-guided brachytherapy of gynaecological cancer.
