About
Mienke Rijsdijk was born in the Hague, the Netherlands, on the 21th of august, 1983. She started medical school in 2001 at the University Medical Centre Utrecht and graduated in 2008.
Following medical school she started her specialist training in Anesthesiology at the Department of Perioperative Care and Emergency Medicine of the University Medical Center Utrecht (Chair: Prof. J.T.A. Knape, MD). During the first year of her specialist training she decided to combine it with a PhD project entitled "Intrathecal steroids for intractable postherpetic neuralgia"
(Promotores: Dr. A.J.M. van Wijck, MD and Prof. C.J. Kalkman, MD). She started this PhD project in January 2009.

Research: Etiologic and therapeutic research in the field of anesthesia.
