About Linda Peelen (1979) obtained her MSc degree in Medical Informatics at the Academic Medical Center (University of Amsterdam) in 2002. From October 2002 –September 2007 she worked as a PhD student at the Department of Medical Informatics at the AMC. The research conducted in this period resulted in the thesis entitled ‘Modeling disease definitions and dynamics of disease in severe sepsis patients at the ICU’. In the same period she conducted analyses for the Dutch National Intensive Care Evaluation (NICE) registry. Since December 2007 she has a post-doc position at the department of Epidemiology of the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care of the University Medical Center Utrecht.
Interest and focus Linda Peelen’s own research focuses on the methodology of prognostic modeling, with special attention to complex outcomes and repeated measurements. Medical fields of application include anesthesiology, cardiac surgery and intensive care. She has experience in using (large) registry databases for clinical research and in development and use of prognostic models in the dynamic environment of anesthesiology and intensive care. At the department of Anesthesiology she is involved in the design and analysis of various research projects.
