There is a longstanding collaboration with Jan van Melkebeek, orthopaedic surgeon in Antwerp, Belgium, who has been participating in the study on joint distraction in the treatment of severe ankle osteoarthritis from the start. His expertise on external fixation in orthopaedics and their well organised clinical practice contributes to the research. This collaboration has added to several publications on clinical studies on joint distraction.
