Research on systemic immune diseases focuses on unique cohorts of patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Sjogren Syndrome, and more recently also Sclerodermia. Our national reputation in this field leads to referral of many patients to our clinic, providing sufficient large cohorts of patients with these diseases to ensure high quality studies.

The pathophysiology and modulation of inflammation and tissue damage.

Prevalence:
There are two research lines within this theme:
- The pathophysiological role of antiphospholipid antibodies.
- Immune-pathology of Sjögren syndrome (SS) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
