Creating subtypes is one of the main goals to improve outcome of treatment by improving patient selection for specific treatments. Different experimental treatments are investigated in randomized controlled study designs to explore the effect of cochlear implants, psychological therapy and neurostimulation on tinnitus outcome. Thereby, studying and improving quality of research is of upmost importance to open up research outcomes for the patient and the physician and improve clinical care for these patients.
