The research group has longstanding experience in diagnosis and treatment of patients with allergies, and especially food allergy. The group was the first in Europe to start food challenges aimed to determine thresholds of reactivity, which now have become one of the most relevant methods to assess food allergy and to guide future labeling strategies. The group also participated in many multicenter studies including SAFE, CREATE, Europrevall, and VIPES. VIPES was the largest ever immunotherapy study in peanut allergy, on the efficacy and safety. Next to this the group has a track record on Chronic spontaneous urticarial and Angioedema therapy and mechanistic understanding.
