Biography
Biography
Katrien Oude Rengerink works at the Julius Center, at the subdepartment of Clinical Trial Methodology, focusing on implementing and developing novel methodology for clinical trials. Next to that she is detached to the Medicines Evaluation Board / College ter Beoordeling van de Geneesmiddelen as methodology assesor. She is member of the Institutional Review Board of the department of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacotherapy. She is member of the committeee Proefpersonenwerving of the Dutch Clinical Research Foundation.
After studying Biomedical Sciences, with a master in Epidemiology at Radboud University Nijmegen, she obtained her PhD on her thesis ‘Embedding trials in evidence-based clinical practice’ at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, focused on improving recruitment of patients in clinical trials and the integration of EBM teaching in clinical practice.
During and after obtaining her PhD she worked as a methodologist for the Consortium for Studies in Womens’ Health (www.studies-obsgyn.nl) and the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam. She was involved in the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of multiple multicenter trials in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, mostly focused on induction of labour and urinary incontinence treatment.
From 2015-2016 she worked as assistant professor on Work Package 3 of the Get Real project, focused on methodological and operational challenges in pragmatic trial design. (http://www.imi-getreal.eu/)
