Unfortunately, the Supervisory Board has concluded that the internal collaboration in the board under her leadership has not taken the form necessary for the required unity of management. This unity is crucial, especially now that UMC Utrecht is facing a transformation task in the coming period and administrative cohesion and unambiguous management from a single collective board are required. In the interests of the organization, it has therefore been decided to part ways with the chair of the Executive Board.

Nevertheless, the Supervisory Board expresses its appreciation for Carina Hilders' efforts over the past period. She has shown great commitment and humanity in her work for UMC Utrecht. She has also contributed to important developments within the organization, both in terms of daily activities in education, healthcare, and science, and in terms of UMC Utrecht's future and transformation tasks.

UMC Utrecht is currently undergoing a challenging phase of transformation. The Supervisory Board will endeavor to provide the Executive Board—and, through them, the entire organization—with optimal support in this process. People-oriented leadership and commitment to patients and employees remain paramount.

The other three members of the Executive Board will assume Carina Hilders' duties and responsibilities.
