Open Government Act (Woo) uitklapper, klik om te openen
As UMC Utrecht, we think transparency is important. We want to be open about our organization and find it important that information is easy to find. A special form of transparency follows through the Open Government Act (Woo) (formerly the Wob).
In addition to care, we also engage in research and education. This makes us an educational and research institution according to the Higher Education and Scientific Research Act (WHW. Art. 12.3). It also states that UMC Utrecht is an administrative body.
This means that UMC Utrecht falls under the Open Government Act (Woo). This law allows you to request us to disclose information. This concerns information related to the public task of the UMC Utrecht.
You can send requests regarding the Open Government Act (Woo) to:
UMC Utrecht
Department of Legal Affairs
House mail number D01.343
PO Box 85500
3508 GA Utrecht
Or mail to: woo@umcutrecht.nl
You can also contact one of our spokespersons by phone for this purpose.
What happens to my Woo request?
You will receive confirmation of receipt as soon as possible, with additional information about the course of the procedure. In principle, the UMC Utrecht has four weeks to respond to the Woo request. Sometimes this is not enough time to gather the information or make a decision, in which case the UMC Utrecht may take an extra two weeks, in which case you will be notified.
If you have requested a lot of information, even the extra two weeks may not be enough. In that case we will contact you to make further arrangements about the request and the time needed to process it carefully.
Public accessibility is the starting point. However, the UMC Utrecht may also reject your request or parts thereof if one of the grounds for exceptions in the Woo applies. Examples are when the requested information relates to:
- company and manufacturing data
- personal data
- the economic or financial interests of the UMC Utrecht
- respect for personal privacy and/or is competition-sensitive.
In addition, medical information is excluded. This information cannot be requested through a Woo request.
Can and may the UMC Utrecht comply with your Woo request? Then your (anonymous) request, the decision of the governing board of the UMC Utrecht and the relevant documents will be made public for everyone.
