Head & Neck Imaging

In radiotherapy of laryngeal tumors generally the complete larynx is considered to be the target volume in spite of the heterogeneous tumor cell density within this organ. First step in improving treatment for laryngeal tumors is optimization and validation of 3-D imaging techniques that are able to visualize the gross tumor volume (GTV). Techniques under investigation are MRI (1.5 T and 3 T), dynamic-enhanced multi-slice (DCE)-CT and FDG-PET imaging.
