Josefien Kursten appointed as member of the Executive Board of UMC Utrecht

Josefien Kursten has been appointed as a member of the Executive Board of UMC Utrecht with effect from January 1, 2022. She will focus within the board on the areas of operations and finance.

As a member of the collegial board, Josefien Kursten will help determine the overall policy of UMC Utrecht. She is also responsible for the focus areas of finance and (sustainable) business operations. Josefien Kursten is currently working as director regulation at the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa).

After studying General Economics, Drs. Josefien Kursten began working at various ministries as a financial policy advisor. After more than 10 years she switched to the Dutch Healthcare Authority. Josefien has held various management positions at the NZa. Since 2016 she has been director of regulation. Social commitment is leading in the steps Josefien has taken in her career.

The Executive Board  further consists of Prof. Margriet Schneider (chair), Prof. Arno Hoes (vice-chair and dean), and Drs. Remco van Lunteren (operational affairs). With the appointment of Josefien Kursten the the Executive Board is complete.
