Real time planning

The MRI-accelerator provides real-time MRI feedback from the patient. To exploit this information one needs fast, ultimately, real-time treatment planning and plan adaptation. Then the optimal IMRT plan can be used instead of relying on volumetric margins to account for uncertainties. Both the precise anatomy and the IMRT treatment plan are known for each point in time, so also the accumulated dose until that point in time can be determined. Each new IMRT treatment plan can explain the latest state of the anatomy while dose painting allows an optimal IMRT plan for the remaining required dose.
