UMC Utrecht Heroes
The current situation regarding the Coronavirus has affected us all. However, it has also led to new and creative ideas. This was the case for our outreach coordinator Cecily Stolte, who recognised a disconnect between UMC Utrecht and school-aged children.
Wanting to bridge this gap, Cecily has designed and organised bi-monthly vlogs called UMC Utrecht Heroes which will launch early 2021. Each new vlog will feature a different UMC Utrecht employee (hero) with a fun and interesting job. The employee will share the challenges they face each day but also their favour aspects of their career and workspace. They will then field questions from school-ages children who will be asked to think about what makes a hero and explore why these employees could be considered heroes.
The planning for the vlog has started and several UMC Utrecht employees are enthusiastic about sharing their work experiences. The aim of this vlog is to not only engage school-ages children into thinking about what makes a hero, but also introduce the diverse array of employment opportunities within UMC Utrecht which might possibly lead them to a career in healthcare.
