Head and Neck Course Utrecht
From June 16th till June 18th 2027 the 14th Head and Neck Course Utrecht will be held in the UMC Utrecht Cancer Center.

Originally this course was organized for ENT residents in The Netherlands and Belgium but due to its popularity, the course evolved over the years with participants from all over Europe and beyond. The combination of lectures by experienced faculty members, instructional videos, interesting discussions and hands-on cadaver dissection provide the opportunity to enrich your knowledge and practice your surgical skills.
This course will cover the work-up, multidisciplinary management and follow-up of head and neck cancer patients. The cadaver dissections will focus on the submandibular gland and neck, the thyroid and larynx and the parotid gland with introductions by an experienced head and neck anatomist. The participants will be guided step-wise in doing a neck dissection including submandibular gland dissection, thyroidectomy and total laryngectomy and parotidectomy using a manual and guidance of the faculty.

This course is intended for senior residents, fellows and young staff members in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery who are involved in the management of head and neck cancer patients. It is specifically designed for participants who already have a solid clinical and basical surgical foundation and wish to strengthen their expertise in complex decision-making in the head and neck patient, with extra emphasis on the surgical skills

The Netherlands - Fellows and residents have to take a written statement of their head of the department.
- Dissection:
There is a dissection manual which describes the different dissections wich you will receive before the course. During the course we have three dissection sessions. Two participants share one cadaver, you can assist each other.

How do I register?
Registration can be done online by filling in the registration form. After registration you will directly receive an e-mail with additional information. Your registration will be final once we have received your payment. Registration will take place in order of arrival of the payment. The course has a limited number of participants.
When will I receive proof of payment?
If your payment has been received in good order, you will receive proof of payment from us by email.
What is included in the cost of the course?
The fee includes material, lunch and coffee/tea during breaks and course dinner on Thursday night. There is no additional VAT (BTW) obligation.
What about cancellation?
Participants who cancel less than 4 weeks before the event will be required to pay the participation fee in full. All cancellations must be made by an email and the authoritative date is the date of receipt.
Will I also receive a certificate of attendance?
Yes, you will receive a certificate of participation on Friday morning during the closing of the course.
Will I receive accreditation points for this course?
Accreditation is not required as standard for this course. Depending on the type of registration, a decision will be made on whether or not to apply for accreditation. If you have any questions about this, please contact the course's Secretarial Assistant.
What about liability?
The organizers are not liable for any losses, accidents or damage to persons or objects, regardless of the cause. Participants and accompanying persons attend the conference and all accompanying events at their own risk and responsibility.
Are photos taken during the course?
During this course we will take pictures for you as a participant and also for social media. If you object to this, we would like to hear this so that we can take this into account.
