Uveitis

Procedure

Uveitis is an intraocular inflammation. In some cases the cause is of infectious origin. Diagnostics for these infections is performed on intraocular fluids by use of PCR and by determining the Goldmann-Witmer coefficient (GWC) for intraocular antibody production.

Shipment of material for uveitis diagnostics should be according to the guidelines for Biological substances category B (UN3373). Dedicated shipping boxes can be requested at medischemicrobiologie@umcutrecht.nl (professionals only).
