ISO15189 accreditation
The Medical Microbiology (MMB) department of UMC Utrecht is ISO 15189 accredited by the Dutch Accreditation Council (M208 TESTING). Provisions falling under the accreditation scope are validated unless stated otherwise. See for the accredited scope. the list of activities. We work as much as possible using standardized procedures.
Our academic patient population, with its frequently rare and complex clinical presentations, requires us to sometimes perform exceptional diagnostic testing. Consult with the medical microbiologist in the event of special testing. A note regarding the special testing will be added to the result.
