Hands-on introductory course to head and neck surgery

Hands-on introductory course to head and neck surgery

We hope that from June 16th till June 18th 2022 the 9th hands-on introductory course to Head & Neck Surgery can be held in the UMC Utrecht Cancer Center.

Originally this course was organized for ENT residents in The Netherlands and Belgium but due to its popularity, the course evolved over the years with participants from all over Europe and beyond. The course language is English. The combination of lectures by experienced faculty members, instructional videos, interesting discussions and hands-on cadaver dissection provide the opportunity to enrich knowledge and practice surgical skills.

The course is designed for senior residents, fellows or young staff members in Ear-Nose-Throat Surgery or Maxillo-Facial Surgery, with topics on work-up, multidisciplinary management and follow-up of head and neck cancer patients. The cadaver dissections will focus on the neck, larynx and salivary glands with introductions by an experienced head and neck anatomist. The participants will be guided step-wise in doing a neck dissection, total laryngectomy and parotidectomy using the manual and guidance of the faculty.

Hoping to see you next June!
